Description: Did you know that Turkey will be the second fastest growing economy in the world by 2018? It’s already the fastest growing economy in Europe and is the UK’s second largest European export market after Germany. Last year UK exports of goods to Turkey rose by 38%.

Not only a developing market in its own right, with a young, growing population of 74 million people, Turkey’s strategic location provides a gateway from Europe into the markets of Central Asia and the Middle East too.
The country’s drive towards possible accession to the European Union is also key to the modernisation of its economy and business environment, making now an excellent time to consider Turkey as your next export market.
Discover more about the huge potential of this high-growth market and how your business could maximise on the opportunities by joining East Midlands International Trade Association (emita) for an evening seminar, in partnership with the Global Trade Network, on Wednesday 24 April. Our guest speakers, including Jessica Hand, former Director of UKTI Turkey and HM Consul-General in Istanbul, and local companies who have first hand experiences of doing business in Turkey, will provide:

• An insight of what’s currently happening in the market
• An overview of the business opportunities in a variety of sectors, including rail, construction, environment and water, education and training, ICT and life sciences
• Practical advice on accessing the market and overcoming the challenges it poses
• Cultural considerations for building successful working relationships
• Access to the support available to help your business go further in this dynamic market

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), this event will commence with registration and light refreshments from 5.00 pm, with the presentations beginning at 5.30 pm. The evening will draw to a close at 7.30 pm followed by a networking buffet supper.
