ABC Day Nursery in Hollinswood will be open for everyone to view and enjoy tomorrow from 10am to 2pm, with staff on hand to answer any questions.
The site is one of four in the ABC Day Nursery group which has been operating for more than 26 years and has cared for over 1,500 children. The other nurseries based in Lightmoor, Hoo Farm, and at Hadley Learning Centre are also all recognised as outstanding by Ofsted.
ABC Day Nursery has also become the first nursery in Shropshire to gain a national accreditation for adopting the Curiosity Approach to nursery education. Considered a back-to-basics approach it teaches children about the world around them through play with real objects and settings.
Penny Hustwick, who first trained as a nursery nurse and is now director of the ABC group, said everyone was really looking forward to the open day and having the opportunity to show the wonderful setting to new parents.
“ABC Hollinswood is a really lovely, homely nursery and we want to share it with as many people as possible.
“As well as the Curiosity Approach as also offer weekly Forest School and letters and sounds and marvellous maths with Shropshire Tutor.
“We offer childcare for children aged three months to five years, Monday to Friday between 7.45am and 6pm, 51 weeks of the year, and also offer a term-time only option.
“It is a really vibrant, colourful, and wonderful setting for children to enjoy. Our experienced and highly-trained staff will be on hand to show parents around and answer any questions they might have.
“We cater to the needs of individual children and like to offer a home away from home environment, with the added advantage of offering a wide range of play and educational options. We have visits from the Shropshire Tutor and language teachers to make learning fun, and it also helps with the transition from nursery to school.”
The nursery is based at Hollinswood Primary School on Dale Acre Way and accepts funding for two year olds, and three to four year olds, as well as 30 hours where eligible.
