Energy from Waste (EfW) provider Covanta Energy has recently appointed Nadia Boyarkina as the company’s Technical Development Manager, expanding the UK development team further.

Nadia has been involved in the development and implementation of waste management projects for more than 10 years and joins Covanta from Parsons Brinckerhoff where she worked as a Principal Consultant.

During her time at Parsons Brinckerhoff (now part of the Balfour Beatty group) Nadia was involved in the project management and business development on a number of complex and large scale developments, including Lenders’ Engineer for Covanta’s Bradford and Calderdale bid.

Nadia, who is a member of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, has also worked previously as a Senior Analyst for Juniper Consultancy where she undertook a wide range of projects for both private and public sector clients and multi-client work in the waste management field in the UK and abroad.

Commenting on her appointment Nadia said: “I am very excited about joining Covanta; my previous consultancy experience will be pertinent to the company’s development projects in the UK. In particular, I look forward to helping secure the development of EfW facilities in the UK.

In her new role Nadia will help establish a new interlink between the engineering and development departments. She will be based at Covanta’s offices in Kingswinford, West Midlands and will report to Director of Development Peter Wright and Director of Engineering Paul Cole.

Director of Development, Peter Wright said: “Investing in both the development and engineering teams is very important for the strength of the company and Nadia’s previous experience will aid us in both these areas. I’m delighted she has decided to come on board and I look forward to working with her.”
