A business relationship forged over three decades is “rising” to new challenges. The Wrights Food Group has secured a deal to buy a Stoke-on-Trent bakery which has been supplying high quality bread to the company for more than 30 years.
Premier Catering is moving from its base in Anchor Road, Longton, and into a purpose-built unit which is attached to the Wrights’ business base in Crewe.
The deal will result in investment into state-of-the-art bakery equipment aimed at increasing production while at the same time retaining quality.
It is expected to complete the transition to South Cheshire by the end of August.
Peter Wright, Chairman and CEO of the Wrights Food Group, said: “Premier Catering has supplied us with high quality bread for in excess of 30 years.
“We have acquired the business to ensure continuity of supply but also to expand the range. Investment will help us to increase production and to grow.”
Large numbers of loaves, baguettes and baps are baked fresh each and every day by the six-strong Premier Catering team and shipped to Wrights’ shops all over North Staffordshire and South Cheshire.
Staff from Premier Catering will be making the move to the new purpose-built unit to ensure continuity in quality standards for Wrights’ customers.
Rolando Tuano, owner of Premier Catering, said: “The deal is great news for both companies and I am delighted it has been agreed. The time is right for the acquisition. We are looking forward to building on the great relationship we have forged over the past three decades.”
