Nottingham’s Women’s Real Estate Network (WREN) has raised over £400 at a retro-themed quiz night for local charity Nottinghamshire Hospice.
The occasion – an annual event for the group – featured retro-themed decorations and a series of ‘back to the past’ questions over a tapas-style dinner and cocktails.
Leah McSherry, a solicitor at Nottingham-based Cleggs Solicitors and a WREN committee member, helped organise the event.
She said: “I’m thrilled that our annual fundraising event has been such a success. Altogether we raised £416, and every penny will go to Nottinghamshire Hospice – a fantastic charity that cares for people with life limiting illnesses.
“Every year we normally host a charity fashion show, but this year we decided to do something different. Everyone loves a good quiz and the WREN team worked hard to make sure this event stood out from the regular pub quiz night.
“It was a really fun evening and I’d like to thank all those who attended the event. I hope to see everyone again next year.”
Holly Swinckels, fundraising development manager at Nottinghamshire Hospice, said: “On behalf of all the patients, volunteers, staff and trustees at Nottinghamshire Hospice, I’d like to thank the WREN committee for organising this fundraising event, which raised over £400 – a fantastic amount that will enable 20 patients to access complimentary therapy sessions.
“All of Nottinghamshire Hospice’s services are free to our patients and their families but they cost £3 million per year to run and we have to raise £2 million of that through relationships with supporters such as WREN. Thank you once again for your generosity and support.”
WREN is a property network for women based in Nottinghamshire, with a network of more than 600 women and 40 official members which include eight committee members.
