Event Title: Workplace Pensions and Automatic Enrolment
Date: 16 April 2013
nr Walton upon Trent
Description: Businesses are invited to a free seminar by local pension specialist, Jay Financial to understand how new pension legislation will affect them.
Explaining, Jackie Fancourt, Partner said: “All employers, whatever their size have to make arrangements for a pension scheme for their employees. They will have to automatically enrol eligible employees into it and make contributions.
“Whilst the implementation for many companies still seems a long way into the future, implementation takes an average of 18 months and many still feel confused about how it will work. This was highlighted at the recent 2013 Ceridian customer conference where 76% of HR and finance professionals admitted they found that auto enrolment legislation was unnecessarily complex or difficult.
“Although its introduction will increase the costs of employment, there are steps employers can take now to minimise the impact it will have on their operations and spread the costs.
“In the seminar we will explain what it really means to businesses large and small, how to get prepared and explain the changes to employees, as well as the different options available.”
Jackie is a regular speaker at events on Auto Enrolment and the pension changes –including those for National Employment Savings Trust (NEST), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Business Peak District, Derbyshire Dales County Council, and later this year with the Association Accounting Technicians (AAT) and The Pension Regulator.
In 2012, Jackie was one of the ‘pensions expert’ panellists for The Guardian’s live Q&A on auto enrolment and was shortlisted for Unbiased.co.uk Media Adviser Awards 2013 – Pensions Independent Financial Adviser of the Year.
Adrian Sims, intermediary relationship manager at NEST said, “Thousands more employers will be affected by automatic enrolment over the coming months and years, and many of those employers will want access to advice. Advisers can help employers understand how to meet their duties and, if they use NEST’s delegated access service, even do the administration for the employer who wishes to enrol into NEST. Jay Financial and other advisers have a crucial role to play and NEST is delighted to work with them to help employers navigate their way through the pension reforms.”
Jackie attended Nest Corporation in March to receive training on the NEST delegated access service.
The seminar takes place 9am-11am on Tuesday 16th April at “Seasoned” based in Catton Hall near Walton on Trent. Places are limited so to secure your free place, please email email@example.com or telephone 01283 761866
