Business water retailer, Water Plus, has raised over £17,000 for the children and young people at The Donna Louise.
The team at Water Plus chose The Donna Louise as their charity of the year in 2018 and their “AquaDucks” employee charity and social group have been organising loads of fundraising activities throughout the last 12 months, including bake sales and raffles.
The brilliant fundraising has now seen the Water Plus team named a Donna Louise “Hero” as part of the charity’s partner recognition scheme.
Andy Hughes, Chief Executive of Water Plus, said: “Our people have all been passionate about helping the children and young people at The Donna Louise. As well as organising our own events, some of the Water Plus team also took part in The Donna Louise Family Fun Run last year.
“Supporting the local community is firmly built into our business values. Not only have the fundraising activities run by our AquaDucks’ team been great fun, it’s rewarding to know that we’ve made a difference to the families in our local community, who rely on the Hospice.”
Water Plus employs more than 400 people in its head office, and main contact centre, in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Water Plus is a business water retailer that provides customer service, meter reading and billing for water and wastewater services, along with advice on water efficiency, to businesses and public sector organisations of all sizes, across England and Scotland.
The Donna Louise supports more than 260 families across Staffordshire and Cheshire and relies almost entirely on the support of the local community.
Daisy Franklin, Relationship Manager at the Hospice, said: “Almost all of the money we need to run the services for families comes from local supporters and businesses. Without their continued support we simply wouldn’t exist. Building great relationships with local businesses like Water Plus is so important and we are so grateful for their support over the last 12 months.
“The Water Plus team are a great group of people who clearly care about their local community and the children and young people who use The Donna Louise. On their behalf I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Water Plus for your incredible support.”
