Walton Homes hands over Stafford playground with community investment

Walton Homes has unveiled a brand-new playground to children in Stafford, having invested more than £85,000 into providing new community facilities.

The playground off Wootton Drive in Creswell has been created along with a public car park as part of the housebuilder’s commitment to supporting the local community.

The playground boasts a range of play equipment and lies alongside Walton Homes’ new Creswell Croft development, which is made up of 14 family homes.

Director Sarah Summerton said: “We have always been committed to supporting the communities where we site our developments, whether its contributions to local charities or sponsoring grass roots football teams.

“When we applied for planning permission to build Creswell Croft, we pledged to enhance the area for children, providing new and improved play facilities for them to enjoy, and we’ve worked alongside the Stafford Council to deliver this over the last few months.

“We’ve had great feedback from people living at the development and in the local area about the standard of the facilities and its proximity to both the development and the local schools. While we’ve not been fortunate enough to have the glorious summer we enjoyed last year, children have been making the most of the new equipment, and we’re sure there will be plenty of fun evenings after school spent there,” she added.

Walton Homes also made a £65,000 contribution towards primary and secondary education in the area.
