Uttoxeter Gateway Club receives funding boost from housebuilder

Paul Nixon thanks Bellway Sales Advisor Helen Toney

A charity which helps people with learning disabilities in Uttoxeter gain access to leisure activities has received a donation from a local housebuilder.

Uttoxeter Gateway Club meets weekly at The Guild Hall and offers a safe space for adults with special needs to socialise.

Bellway, which is building new homes at Bramshall Green, off Bramshall Road, has donated £200 to the charity.

Paul Nixon, Chairman of Uxottexter Gateway Club, said: “Kind gestures, such as this one from Bellway, help us to continue our work, and we are always so touched by the support we receive in the community.

“We currently have 39 members, and they benefit greatly from the activities and social life the club provides them.

“We are really grateful to have received this donation from Bellway.”

Marie Richards, Sales Director for Bellway West Midlands, said: “It’s heart-warming to be able to make a difference to a group of people and to give a donation which helps the Uttoxeter Gateway Club carry out their important work.

“At Bellway, we are committed to supporting local groups, so when we heard about the fantastic work the club does for people in the town, we knew we wanted to help.”
