Two more of Birmingham’s best have stepped up to the plate and pledged their support for Cure Leukaemia’s fundraising evening, Glynn Purnell’s Friday Night Kitchen. PR, marketing and events agency, EAST VILLAGE., and PD Financial Management Ltd have both signed up as sponsors for GPFNK17, as marketing sponsor and menu sponsor respectively.

In addition, PD Financial Management Ltd will also be sponsoring GPFNK’s social media competition, #FridayNightFoodie. The competition asks followers to tweet what they eat each week, battling it out against each other for the prize of two tickets to the event.  PD Financial Management Ltd and EAST VILLAGE. will be joining the likes of Chamber Ford Sutton, Elonex, Malmaison, Purnell’s, Rudell The Jewellers, and the Vox, not to mention returning headline sponsor Birmingham Airport.

This is the first year that EAST VILLAGE. and PD Financial Management Ltd have sponsored GPFNK. Speaking about why they’ve decided to join the line-up, EAST VILLAGE.’s managing director, Tara Tomes commented:

“Having attended last year’s GPFNK, I knew that I wanted EAST VILLAGE. to be involved the next time around. The energy of the event is unparalleled, uniting the city for an evening of good fun for a good cause. EV. is proud to be backing GPFNK17 and we can’t wait to help make the night bigger and better than ever before.”

The celebrated event, now in its third year, is raising the bar for 2017 by making the move to The Vox at Resorts World Birmingham. This sees the Friday night fundraiser increase its capacity from 400 to 800, in an ambitious attempt to raise over £100,000 for its £1m Centre Appeal.

Fronted by proud Brummie Glynn Purnell, the event features a four-course, five-star dinner created by the TV chef. Throughout the night, Purnell – who regularly features on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen and has just been confirmed as host for Channel 4’s My Kitchen Rules alongside Rachel Allen – brings a host of his celebrity friends to the stage to help serve up a feast to remember. Previous guests have included fellow Brummie, Rustie Lee; Masterchef host, Gregg Wallace; TV star, Jimi Mistry; and X Factor winner, Sam Bailey.

Taking place on Friday 6 October 2017, GPFNK has become a flagship fundraiser for Cure Leukaemia; highlighting the work that the charity does and helping to raise vital funds. At the start of this year, the Birmingham-based charity launched a £1 million Appeal to fully fund the expansion of the Centre for Clinical Haematology in Birmingham, which is known across the world for its ground-breaking work with blood cancer.

Speaking about the decision of PD Financial Management Ltd to get behind Cure Leukaemia’s GPFNK17, the company’s director David London said:

“As a business, it is integral to our ethos that we give back to those around us and Cure Leukaemia is a cause I’ve worked with for five years. As a company, we’ve attended GPFNK every year, getting a table last year, before making the decision to sponsor this year. From experience, I can say that GPFNK is not just a great night, but one where you can guarantee that every penny raised is going towards the ground-breaking, essential work that the charity is doing. Over the past few years, we’ve become part of the Cure Leukaemia Family, which is why we will continue to support them as much as we can, and why we’re hoping that we can help the Cure Leukaemia team beat their £100,000 target for the night, giving everyone an extra reason the celebrate.”

Tickets for GPFNK are already on sale and have already surpassed 300 – but there are still over 400 to go. Tables of 10 are available to purchase and every ticket includes reception drinks, a four-course meal prepared by Glynn Purnell, and raffle tickets to win Sunday lunch for up to six people cooked in your home by Glynn and the team from Purnell’s… they even do the washing up!
