Best-selling business author and award-winning Midland entrepreneur Nigel Botterill was Guest of Honour and presenter of the prizes at Solihull School’s Speech Day.
The founder and chief executive of Solihull-based franchising, marketing and training company N5 Limited gave an inspirational speech encouraging boys and girls at the independent school for 7 to 18 year olds to follow their heart and intuition, become well-rounded and think big throughout their school life and beyond.
The Solihull School parent also told the packed audience in the school’s Bushell Hall why building a business can be so fulfilling and worthwhile and how enthusiasm, a positive attitude and taking responsibility have contributed to his success.
The winner of the BT Essence of the Entrepreneur Award and the first ever non-American (and twice winner) to be named GKIC Marketer of the Year published his first book on business ‘The Botty Rules’ in 2011. It reached number two in the Sunday Telegraph best sellers list with all the sales proceeds going to Teenage Cancer Trust.
Headmaster David E J J Lloyd welcomed Nigel as one of a number of principal guests including the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Joe Tildesley and the Vice-Chairman of the Governors, Judge Michael C Morris. More than 150 pupils from the Sixth Form and Middle School stepped up to receive prizes.
