Melton Mowbray’s Town & Country Petfoods has scooped a top award from the UK’s largest pet supplies retailer, Pets at Home Ltd.

Managing director, Tony Parkinson and marketing director, Peter Parkinson attended the 2013 Pets at Home Supplier Heroes Awards at The Imperial War Museum North, in Manchester.

Beating off competition from big household names including Mars and Nestle, Town & Country was announced the winner of the ‘Top Quality Award for 2013”.
Peter said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be recognised in this way. The Top Quality Award is given to the supplier that ‘always goes the extra mile’ and it’s a fitting tribute to every one of our employees and their determination to achieve and surpass our customers’ expectations.”

Pets at Home Ltd is the largest pet supplies retailer in the UK. The company employs over 5,000 staff and operates 350 stores nationwide.

David Wainwright, head of buying for Pets at Home said: “Town and Country Petfoods has invested an awful lot of time, effort and energy into working with us. They always rise to the challenge and always succeed in delivering above our expectations.

“Delivering consistently good quality is part of their DNA. We are particularly thankful for their work this year on the product improvement and reformulation of Seriously Good.”
Town & Country was also nominated in two further categories Best Private Label Supplier and Best Online Supplier. The family-run company owns the HiLife range of pet foods – one of the most popular pet food brands in the UK.
