On Wednesday 22nd August, Jimmy Spice’s officially opened its doors to a host of VIP guests following a dramatic refurbishment that has seen the restaurant double in size.
Now Birmingham’s largest restaurant, Jimmy Spice’s serves over 150 dishes which was more than enough for local hero Kai Walker who did the honours of cutting a ribbon to mark the restaurant’s opening. Seven year old Kai saved his mother Stacey’s life after she fell unconscious after suffering a fit.
Restaurant manager Sash Duggal invited Kai’s family to an exclusive preview of the new restaurant and a complimentary meal. He said “It was our greatest honour to have a local hero as special as Kai to open our restaurant, he is a remarkable young man and it was the least that we could do for him and his family.
“Our opening night was a huge success and the response from our guests has been incredibly encouraging. We are delighted to now be fully open for business to our Birmingham community.”
On the night guests were entertained by flame throwers, stilt walkers, drummers and traditional Bollywood dancers.
The opening of Jimmy Spices has created over 70 new jobs for local people.
