A Tamworth accountancy firm has celebrated its first birthday, announcing plans to grow its team as it enters its second year.
After a decade of working together, Jonathan Ashford and Stephanie Green joined forces to establish Ashford Green in September 2018, and have just toasted a successful first 12 months in business.
The business, based at Electric House on Ninian Way, has built up a portfolio of more than 200 clients during their first year of trading and is already looking to expand.
Jonathan said: “Like many start-up businesses, Ashford Green launched after many months of soul-searching and planning. Stephanie and I had worked together at another Midlands accountancy firm for 10 years, along with my wife Vicky, and we harboured ambitions of one day setting up our own practice.
“Following several months of discussions and diagrams, we decided to take the plunge; and we’ve not looked back. The very nature of our work means that we are well aware of how many businesses fail within the first 12 months, and we have dedicated all of our time to ensuring we provide our clients with high levels of service and advice to aid both their success and our own.
“It’s been a very exciting and rewarding time for us. We’ve been thrilled with the response from clients, who have been very positive about the way we operate, and we’ve been delighted to have gained a lot of new clients, all through referral and recommendation.”
Stephanie added: “Our clients are based all over the Midlands and range from sole-traders to well-established businesses with a national presence We pride ourselves on providing every client with a transparent and no-nonsense approach to accounting and taxation advice, leaving them to focus on developing their businesses.
“With that in mind, we are now looking to develop our own team. As with any new business, we’ve been very careful to fully focus our efforts on getting our business off the ground, but as we continue to grow our portfolio, we need to recruit in order to maintain our service levels and support the new business. As such we will be recruiting a new accountant to the team before the end of the year, and we shall see where 2020 takes us,” she said.
