Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery came alive for “Style Birmingham Live” which took place on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September 2015 and was hailed a “huge success” by Lemon Zest Events, the company behind the two day event.
The venue’s impressive Gas Hall was transformed into a “fashion theatre” for the event showcasing this seasons Autumn/Winter styles and collections from many of Birmingham City Centre’s high street retailers and shopping outlets. Three catwalk shows took place each day and all shows had over 300 guests in attendance who were entertained by local DJ Mikey B, as well as gaining a sneak preview of this season’s must have fashion pieces.
The catwalk shows were hosted by TV Presenter Mark Wright and the event also featured fashion advice from style expert Mark Heyes and the season’s latest on trend hairstyles from the Francesco Group.
Style Birmingham Live is the city’s fashion and shopping event of the year, an unmissable weekend of fashion, beauty and shopping. A long lead time of planning and preparation went into the production and within 3 days Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery was transformed into a vibrant fashion theatre for the 2 day event, complete with graphics for each show which were displayed on a large LED wall. All graphics were carefully created to not only compliment the fashion that was showcased, but to bring the catwalk to life. 13 scenes were created for each show, and a Peaky Blinders intro scene and an 80’s remix finale scene was also implemented to open and close the show.
Paul Needham, Production Director at Lemon Zest Events said: “We are extremely proud to be part of such a fantastic event. We worked very closely with a great team of stylists, choreographers and a backstage management team to create a production that was a huge success and that was enjoyed by audience members and participants alike. Style Birmingham Live is always a great opportunity to show our creativity as a company and team, and highlighted the very best of what Birmingham has to offer style and fashion wise for Autumn and Winter. The team at Lemon Zest Events is always committed to every event, we consistently achieve high quality results and pride ourselves on making every event special, and Style Birmingham Live was no exception.”
Mark Wright, the host of Style Birmingham Live 2015, said: “I’m a huge fan of Birmingham, it is changing so much, and everyone here is always so welcoming. I was honoured to host Style Birmingham Live and see the latest looks from the city’s amazing line-up of shops and stylists.”
