Strong backing from businesses as growth campaign is launched

The Business Growth Campaign, led by county businessman Simon Williams and currently backed by 15 partner firms, was showcased at Sixways Stadium where business leaders learned about the training, one-to-one coaching and business review sessions available to them through the unique initiative.

Amongst the speakers was Worcester MP Robin Walker who opened the event and presented alongside Worcester Warriors business development manager, Max Allen, and Ciaran Leaden from Lloyds Bank.

Mr Williams, who runs award-winning business coaching and training specialist, Arrivista, also spoke and underlined his objective to bring 50 local businesses into the campaign whilst looking to protect and create hundreds of jobs.

He said that the campaign is a direct response to the loss of the national Growth Accelerator Fund. It supported SMEs with coaching and match-funding but was culled by the Government last November.

Mr Williams said: “The Business Growth Campaign is here to link businesses across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. It’s an initiative designed to make them match fit for the future by accessing a range of support, funding, advice and experience.

“I am delighted with the success of the launch event. To see so many passionate SMEs together from across the two counties was tremendous and I would like to thank all businesses and partners again for their support.

“Everyone who came to the event saw how successful the campaign can be in not only helping grow local business and trade, but also in creating and protecting jobs.”

Partners of the Business Growth Campaign include Worcester Warriors, Lloyds Bank, Peach Recruitment, chartered accountancy firm Pinfields, and Coomber Electronic Equipment. As part of the campaign, a programme of business seminars are planned for throughout 2016.
