Sorion Electronics, who supplies electronic engineering services to the automotive, aerospace and manufacturing industries, recently celebrated their 25th year on the back of their most profitable year of trading.
During Managing Director Phil Yates’ speech at Sorion Electronics’ 25th anniversary open day, he announced that their 2014/15 trading year-end has been their most successful for profitability, turnover and growth in terms of client base, employee numbers and production space.
Located in the heart of Birmingham and employing 35 people, with a turnover approaching £3M, Sorion Electronics works with a number of iconic brands including Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW, Denso, Dyson, Grupo Antolin, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, KAB Seating, Lamborghini, Lear, Leyland DAF Trucks, Nissan, Rolls-Royce, Toyota and TRW Automotive.
With vehicle production in the UK at an all-time high and inline with the general upturn in manufacturing, Sorion Electronics looks set to achieve continued growth.
To mark their 25th anniversary, Sorion Electronics hosted an open day at their offices earlier in September, which Sir Albert Bore, Leader of the Birmingham City Council, attended. Commenting on the occasion, Sir Albert Bore said: “Sorion is a true success story demonstrating how hard work, dedication, coupled with talented people can see a company come through recession and grow year on year. Sorion is a great example of the talent that Birmingham and the West Midlands has within electronics, engineering and manufacturing.
“I enjoyed the time I spent at Sorion’s manufacturing facility. It was interesting to speak with so many of their employees and customers and to see working demonstrations of their test equipment.”
Phil Yates added: “We wanted to mark our landmark anniversary and celebrate our most successful year since I started the company in 1990. The open day proved to be a huge success and it was great to spend time with so many of our customers and suppliers, many of whom had travelled a fair distance, local business associates, as well as our employees and their families.”
The open day had over 100 people attend and was held on 10th September 2015 at Sorion Electronics’ offices in Birmingham.
