A luxury hotel in Solihull has ended its award-winning 2015 in style by securing a place in the final of a major sales and marketing awards.
Hogarths Hotel & Restaurant in Four Ashes Road, Dorridge, has won a coveted finalist place in the Customer Service Team of the Year category at the British Excellence in Sales and Marketing Awards (BESMA).
Among the 12 finalists in this fiercely competitive category are AXA Insurance, Sage UK and Ceuta Healthcare.
BESMA recognise and reward the best sales professionals in the UK by showcasing their achievements and products as well as helping to promote the art of selling across the country.
The annual event takes place to identify the individuals and teams who have improved the performance of their company as well as highlight the roles sales professionals play in improving the UK’s economy.
BESMA is organised by the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management (ISMM) – the UK’s largest professional sales body – and Hogarths Hotel will find out if they are a winner on Wednesday, March 9 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London when comedian Dara O’Briain will be the host.
Helen Wilson, who is part of Hogarths Hotel & Restaurant’s sales and events team, represented the venue at the judging day.
She said: “The competition is really tough and I was proud to represent Hogarths Hotel at the assessment day.
“Everyone was interviewed by a panel of industry experts and we also had to present a case study to demonstrate our excellence in customer service during the last 12 years.
“Questions focused on describing our excellent customer service including listening, problem solving and strong communication skills, how effectively we work as a team, our flexibility and creative can-do attitude and explaining why our sales team deserved to be considered for the award.
“Providing a high standard of customer service is one of the areas our guests tell us we excel in whether we are hosting a conference, wedding, celebration dinner or team-building activities.
“To have been shortlisted as a finalist in the BESMA underlines the strength of the entire team at Hogarths whether that is our receptionists, waiting staff, housekeepers or event organisers.
“This is the icing on the cake of a fantastic 2015 for Hogarths because we have won a number of high-profile awards which is a great achievement for the entire team and our owners, Helena and Andy Hogarth, because it rewards their investment.
“We are hoping our success over the last year doesn’t stop and that 2016 is even more successful for the team and the hotel.”
