The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce offers individuals a range of help and support in starting their own company – from retail through to training and consultancy.
Its events usually take place during the week but, to fit in with people who currently have day-jobs and are looking to set up on their own, the Chamber is holding a workshop on Saturday, June 17, at The Holiday Inn Express, Bermuda Park in Nuneaton.
It is part of a series of Starting a Business (Warwickshire) Networking Events for start-ups and budding business people.
It will include topics such as the ‘essential ingredients for a successful business’ and turning ‘ideas to reality’. The event is free to attend and is part of the Coventry and Warwickshire Business Support Programme, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, in partnership with Coventry City Council, Warwickshire County Council and the District and Borough Councils.
The workshop will run from 9.30am until 12.30pm and will also offer the chance for individuals to network with like-minded entrepreneurs as well as business start-up coaches.
Hardeep Sandhu, of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Many people who want to start a business are currently in work so they can’t always make it to our weekday sessions.
“That’s why we’ve decided to hold this weekend workshop so that people who dream of running their own business can come and tap into expert knowledge as well as network with people in the same boat.
“It’s the ideal starting place for anyone thinking of setting up on their own.”
Further start-up sessions will take place at Tithe Barn, Polesworth, on Saturday, June 10, at Coleshill Town Council on Saturday, July 8, and at the Centenary Business Centre, Nuneaton, on Wednesday, July 19.
It’s all part of the Chamber’s wider delivery of business support in Nuneaton & Bedworth and North Warwickshire.
Further events are being held to help businesses expand in the area, including a Networking with Neighbours to allow companies from the area to meet with members of the East Midlands Chamber, which takes place on Thursday, June 15.
That is followed by a networking and business support event at Atherstone Golf Club on Friday, July 7, which will include a panel of finance, cost saving and grant specialists who will share their top tips for businesses.
Hardeep said: “There is support on offer for start-ups and growing businesses who want to find ways of expanding their company.
“We look forward to seeing lots of potential start-ups on June 17 as part of our wider programme of events in the area.”
