Sanctuary is delighted to announce that it has today (18 September) appointed Thelma Stober to its Group Board.
A senior public sector solicitor and accredited mediator, Thelma is currently Corporate Legal Adviser to the Local Government Association and its associated companies, where she delivers legal advice.
Thelma was previously Director of Corporate Law and Governance and Board Secretary at the Equality and Human Rights Commission. Before that, she was Director of Legal and Procurement and Monitoring Officer at the Greater London Authority and the London Development Agency.
Thelma was named one of the top 100 Lawyers in the UK for her contribution to securing and bringing the 2012 Olympics to London.
With extensive experience advising the boards of high profile public sector organisations and leading major change programmes, Thelma has also established, reviewed and supported Audit and Risk committees.
Speaking on her appointment Sanctuary Group Chief Executive David Bennett said: “We are pleased to welcome Thelma to the Group board. Her considerable skills and experience will complement and further strengthen the existing Board and support our aims to address the challenges that lie ahead.”
