Award-winning San Carlo Group continues to defy the current economic downturn by opening its second new restaurant in less than 6 months.
The Italian family business has launched Fumo in Waterloo Street, a new concept cocktail bar, restaurant and late lounge serving small dishes of Venetian tapas known as Cicchetti (pronounced chi-KET-tee).
A stunning sweeping bar serves more than 50 choices of innovative cocktails and there will be live music on a Friday and Saturday.
Located adjacent to its original San Carlo restaurant opened in Temple Street in 1984, Fumo is a £2.5million investment for the company which now employs 480 people and has an anticipated group turnover in excess of £32million for the year ending 2012.
Earlier this year, San Carlo Group opened a new restaurant in Beirut under its Signor Sassi brand. Next month another Signor Sassi will open in Bangkok together with a new venture in Piccadilly, London called Cicchetti.
The Group currently has an international portfolio of 14 restaurants.
