Diners will be able to enjoy a magical mystery tour of some of Northampton’s finest restaurants as part of the town centre’s first ever Safari Supper.
Launched as part of this year’s Independents’ Day campaign, the evening will see food lovers enjoy a three course meal at a variety of town centre venues, with starters in one restaurant, main course in another and dessert being served at Auntie Ruth’s.
A number of restaurants will be taking part in the event on July 4 and diners will only find out where they will be eating on the night itself.
The Safari Supper has been organised by the Northampton Town Centre Business Improvement District and partners as part of Independents’ Day, a scheme aimed at championing independent traders.
BID chairman Sue Roberts said: “The Safari Supper promises to be the pinnacle of a host of activity we have planned for Independents’ Day. We have some fantastic independent restaurants in the town centre, serving a diverse range of cuisines.
“We would like you to join us to celebrate our town centre eateries. It will be a fun night and hopefully lots of people will discover somewhere they haven’t eaten before and it will open their eyes to some of the fantastic independent businesses we have in our town centre.”
The Safari Supper, which costs £18.50 per person, will see tables of 10 seated in a number of restaurants around the town. Parties of 10 are welcomed but people can also book in smaller groups or individually.
The BID have organised a series of events aimed at raising the profile of local traders and putting smaller firms in the spotlight on Independents’ Day.
As well as the Safari Supper, highlights of the campaign will include in-store promotions and street entertainment.
Tickets for the Safari Supper must be booked in advance through Royal & Derngate. For more details call the box office on 01604 624811.
