Royal Leamington Spa College has been awarded College of Excellence status by one of the UK’s leading spas, Ragdale Hall, in recognition of its outstanding practice and standards in beauty training.

The award confirms that the college has high standards of training, a good or outstanding Ofsted report and consistently collaborates with the award-winning spa to offer students work experience and enhance employment opportunities.

Based in Leicestershire, Ragdale Hall is a privately-owned destination spa, renowned for its outstanding facilities and exceptional customer service. It has one of the most comprehensive selections of spa treatments available anywhere in the UK and employs around 140 beauty therapists.

Lynne-Marie Gallagher, Training and Development Supervisor at Ragdale Hall Spa, said: “We’ve been working with Royal Leamington Spa College for several years, and are delighted to award them College of Excellence status for the second year running. They were awarded College of Excellence status due to their continued relationship and support of Ragdale Hall, excellent communication and standard of teaching with their students.”

The spa works with a number of colleges across the UK to inspire students to excel in careers within the beauty industry. Colleges benefit from being able to offer high-quality work experience and work placements for students, along with open evenings and treatment demonstrations at Ragdale Hall.

Sam Jocelyn-Sears, Head of Hair and Beauty at Royal Leamington Spa College said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this certificate for the second year in a row. It really does confirm that the training our students receive and the passion of both staff and students regarding the Beauty Therapy profession is second-to-none. We continue to have fantastic relationships with work placement providers here at WCG, with many of them recruiting from us as a result.”

Colleges are reviewed annually and must continue to meet Ragdale Hall’s standards in order to maintain their College of Excellence status.

WCG offers a range of courses in beauty therapy across its Warwickshire and Worcestershire Colleges. For more information, go to: wcg.ac.uk/study or call 0300 456 0049.
