Two of Shrewsbury’s flagship retailers have joined forces for a special milestone.
Bang & Olufsen and Write Here, both well-known businesses in the town’s High Street, are celebrating the 90th anniversaries of their products and to mark the occasion they are offering customers gifts from their neighbouring shop.
Roger Boyle, a director of Bang & Olufsen, which specialises in audio-visual products, including televisions and sound systems, said that the partnership would run during May.
“The brand of Bang & Olufsen is marking its 90th anniversary this year and in response the company has launched a special Rose Gold collection, containing six of our current designs, each embossed with the limited edition ‘90’ icon.
“As a well-established High Street name we like to work with our fellow retailers in Shrewsbury and when we discovered that Write Here was also celebrating we wanted to do something together,” he said.
Write Here manager Jonathan Parker explained that Omas pens, one of the shop’s main products, was also 90 years old in 2015 and had developed a limited edition set of writing instruments in commemoration.
He said: “There are only 90 sets available of these hand-crafted pens being sold worldwide and they feature nine metal bands to represent each decade of the Italian company’s existence.
“They are priced at £1,850 and as one of Omas’ principal stockists we are pleased to be selling them and expect a good deal of interest from pen collectors throughout the country.”
To mark the anniversaries, customers who buy one of the limited editions from Bang & Olufsen will receive a gift from Write Here and visa versa.
“We are proud of the fact that in a time of great change in the High Street we are both businesses with great longevity selling quality products,” Roger added.
