A Worcestershire-based recruitment and training firm has won a prestigious award after helping people learn new skills and find jobs with hundreds of businesses across Wyre Forest and Worcestershire.

eResponse Recruitment has been named 2013 Growth Business of the Year by the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce as part of their annual Business Awards.

The firm, which was founded 10 years ago by brothers Paul and Joe Alekna, now has more than 500 business clients and employs 40 people across branches in Worcester, Redditch and its new offices and training academy in Kidderminster’s Church Street.

Their training academies, which can cater for up to 200 people each day, have played a vital role in the current economic upturn by making sure that businesses with the new-found confidence to recruit staff have the right people ready to work.

eResponse beat five other county businesses to win the accolade, which came in only the first year that the company had entered the awards.

Joe Alekna, co-founder and recruitment director at eResponse Recruitment, thanked the firm’s staff for playing a key role in the company’s success.

He said: “To win the award and be recognised for our ambition and growth is fantastic. It is a superb 10th birthday present for our business is just reward for all the hard work our team has put in to help us get here.

“The award recognises the growth we have achieved over the past year with our new training academy, new clients coming onboard and our investment programme. But we’re not finished yet. We expect 2014 to be another big year for us as we help to train and supply more skilled people for businesses across Wyre Forest.”

Each year eResponse place over 6,000 people into temporary or permanent jobs and have almost 800 fully trained people out on work contracts every day across Worcestershire.

Some of eResponse Recruitment’s big successes have included setting up a unique training course for unemployed people to develop skills and gain qualifications to work in security. The course is offered free of charge and has helped people who have been unemployed for a long time get back into work.
