A health and lifestyle clinic that uses the latest developments in neuroscience to unlock physical and mental fitness is hoping to inspire crowds at the wellness event of the year.
Physiyolates, which uses psychological research combined with elite-level physical training to help clients achieve physical and mental strength, will be making a special appearance at the Being Well Festival in Coventry.
The clinic, based in Knowle, uses its ‘Brain Body’ method during Pilates-led physiotherapy classes to empower people and give them the tools to improve their health and wellbeing, and instructors will be showcasing their methods to visitors at the Ricoh Arena on Thursday, October 24.
Paula Rastrick, who is a Brain Body Performance Coach and one of the founders of Physiyolates, has used her unique rehabilitation techniques to aid professional athletes during the recovery process.
Paula said: “We have a fully integrated brain and body approach to fitness, injury rehab and performance that has been created to improve wellbeing through physical exercise by drawing on psychological studies.
“We now know through the study of neuroscience and psychology that exercise is integral to mental health and well-being and that exercise, which releases brain chemicals such as dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin, can make you better at learning and remembering new skills and information. It can also increase brain plasticity and cognitive function.
“I am very much looking forward to being involved at such a great, positive and inspiring event, and being around other like-minded people.”
The Being Well event will give visitors the opportunity to shop at a ‘wellbeing marketplace’, take part in activities and taster sessions, receive one-to-one advice on health and wellbeing and attend a special ticketed lunch.
Breast Cancer Haven, which will benefit from funds raised throughout the day, operates from locations across the UK and provides emotional, physical and practical support for anyone affected by breast cancer including one-to-one therapy and counselling for family and friends.
