A Nottingham restaurant has been named runner up in The Observer Food Monthly Awards, one of the UK’s most prestigious food awards.
Iberico World Tapas in High Pavement has been shortlisted for the category of ‘Best Restaurant’, being recognised alongside Punjabi restaurant Memsaab and the renowned Restaurant Sat Bains which has two Michelin stars.
Iberico was mentioned in the awards alongside national eatery heavyweights such as The Ledbury in London and Michelin-starred Drake’s in Surrey.
Dan Lindsay, owner of Iberico, said: “These awards are judged by some of Britain’s finest food industry experts so it’s great to have been recognised by such esteemed figures.
“We’re opening a new restaurant in Derby this November, and we hope to create another first-rate dining experience for even more customers to enjoy.”
Iberico opened in 2007 and serves authentic Spanish tapas dishes in a modern and relaxed setting. Since its opening, it has received a prestigious Bib Gourmand accolade, recognising its combination of outstanding food and good value.
This year, three restaurants in Nottingham were shortlisted from the Midlands, making Nottingham the Midlands’ number one culinary city.
