Recently joining as a trainee patent attorney is Anthony Ajanaku who started his career in IP at the European Patent Office, where he worked assisting patent examiners. One exciting area he worked on was climate change technology, which meant dealing with patents for internal combustion engines and fuel efficient technology.
Anthony said: “It is an absolute pleasure to join Forresters as they are a friendly team who are thorough and brilliant at what they do. Forresters is renowned as an inclusive and diverse employer and I’m pleased to be completing my training with them. I look forward to developing my IP knowledge and expertise through Forresters’ programme.”
Anthony joins recent trainees Nathan Chambers and Ian Duncan who are enjoying being based at the firm’s Edmund Street office. Nathan has taken up the position of trainee trade mark attorney after previously working as a trade mark paralegal for an IP firm in Cheltenham, which allowed him to gain valuable experience in a variety of trade mark matters. In 2016 Nathan won the Thomson Compumark award for achieving the highest mark in that year’s Trade Mark Administrators’ course.
Nathan commented: “I was delighted to join Forresters as they are experts in their field and I knew I could learn a lot from the attorneys here. So far I have been exposed to a variety of clearance and prosecution work, along with some more contentious matters. I am excited to train with, and learn from, the team here at Forresters.”
Ian is also a trainee patent attorney and prior to joining Forresters he worked as a design engineer for Bosch Rexroth Ltd. Ian specialised in designing factory equipment for some of the country’s largest manufacturers.
Ian said: “I was excited to take up my role at Forresters, as I knew it would provide me with plenty of opportunities to develop and expand upon the skills and knowledge I had gained as an engineer. During my time so far, I have been exposed to a wide variety of technologies and clients, and I’ve worked on cases from all around the world. My team are incredibly supportive and always eager to help me improve as an attorney.”
