Young businesses across Coventry and Warwickshire that have launched but need help to reach new heights have been invited to an event to get expert hints and tips.
The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce is holding the ‘Reach for the Sky’ event at the Village Hotel Coventry on Tuesday, February 6, as part of the Start-Up Programme which is part-funded by ERDF and Coventry City Council.
The event is aimed particularly at companies that are less than 12 months old and, having established themselves, need advice on where to go next.
There will be advisers from the Chamber on hand to offer free one-to-one advice and there will be presentations from Rob Harrison, of glued, and Ben Feltwell, of alphaquad, on the importance of branding, marketing and digital.
The event will run from 6pm until 8pm but there will also be the opportunity to tap into further support after the meeting.
Hardeep Sandhu, Enterprise Coach Team Leader at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are aiming this event at those businesses that have been established for less than a year and are now looking to go to the next level or focus on running the business smarter.
“Our area and our Chamber, has a really strong reputation for helping businesses to start and it’s very important that they know that there is also support there to help them through the next phases of growth. It’s important to support businesses to get to their first 12 months and then plan for the years ahead to ensure they build a sustainable business for the long term.
“Very often, the first year can be a time when you ride on the crest of the wave of getting started and your whole life goes into establishing your business.
“But it’s those second and third years that will be the real deciding factor on whether the business will enjoy longevity and whether it will go on to grow. It is so important to build a strong foundation in the first 12 months to ensure the business succeeds.
“The idea behind this event and the support on offer is to give businesses expert help and advice on what they should do next.
“We are delighted to have two great speakers at the event who will share their thoughts on branding, marketing and how to make your business stand out from the crowd. We will also be joined by companies we have supported at this stage of their growth so they can share their insight.
“It will be a really helpful event and we’d urge young businesses to sign up and make the most of what’s on offer.”
There will be a free prize draw to win a free stand at the Chamber’s #CWRocks business expo at the Ricoh Arena in March and speakers will be offering free one hour consultations to all attendees
