Birmingham-based business telecommunications firm Intercity Telecom has announced four top appointments in its senior management team. The positions form part of the firm’s ambitious growth plans and its aim to deliver the best B2B telecom experience.
Andrew Jackson takes on the role of group CEO for the UK and Netherlands-based business, having previously held the position of UK managing director. He brings more than 10 years’ experience to the role, including five years working in mergers and acquisitions at Ernst & Young. The appointment has paved the way for Richard Burke to head up the UK arm of the business as managing director, moving up from being finance and operations director at Intercity. Richard was previously finance director at builder’s merchants, UGS and also worked with Andrew in mergers and acquisitions at Ernest & Young.
The telecommunications company has created a new role as part of its growth strategy, bringing in Simon Wort from Vodafone as group commercial operations director for the UK and Netherlands. Simon Wort brings a wealth of experience to the team, having held senior sales and commercial roles across a seven year career at Vodafone as well as holding a senior commercial role at Verizon.
Also joining Intercity is Will Kennedy as sales and marketing director. Will was formerly corporate sale director and member of the UK board at Daisy Group. Prior to that he was head of enterprise sales at Vialtus (formerly Pipex Business) where he drove solution sales.

The appointments come shortly after the firm’s recent accreditation with the Institute of Customer Service, marking its commitment to providing a great service for businesses.
