Mobile Fun, the UK’s leading online retailer of mobile device accessories, has announced the opening of a new office which will act as the international hub for the company’s expanding overseas business.
Fifteen employees will initially work from the office, which is based in Birmingham Science Park Aston. They will be joined by new team members as Mobile Fun continues its recruitment drive.
The international team is responsible for Mobile Fun’s expanding portfolio of country websites. Complementing in-country offices, the Birmingham-based team will provide customer service and translation across eleven different languages.
Mobile Fun has recently boosted its multi-lingual capability, by hiring native-speakers to service Polish, Japanese and Russian customers.
Mohammed Hussain, Managing Director of Mobile Fun, commented: “The opening of our second office in Birmingham is a major step in our rapid expansion. We are entering an exciting phase as our newly established international websites are performing strongly, and the expanding team will strengthen our international footprint further.”
Situated close to Mobile Fun’s Birmingham headquarters, Mobile Fun’s new office benefits from a central location, convenient proximity to the city’s universities, and access to the second city’s diverse student and graduate population.
Head of International at Mobile Fun, Richard Moored added: “We are continuing to grow and with this comes job creation for Birmingham and our in-country international teams. By tapping into the international graduate and student population, as well as recruiting experienced employees, we will be able to secure the talent we need to maintain our market-leading position.”
The Mobile Fun team currently stands at 85 employees. Mobile Fun now has websites in over 30 countries, offices in six countries and close to 50% of total orders are generated by its international websites.
Mobile Fun has experienced its best year to date. The company announced record turnover and profits for its financial year ending 31 March 2013, with sales of £11.5 million.
