McAuliffe kicks off rugby season with Wolverhampton RUFC sponsorship

Wolverhampton-based environmental contractor, McAuliffe, has announced a 12-month sponsorship agreement with local rugby union club, Wolverhampton RUFC.

As one of the historic club’s primary sponsors for the 2018/19 season, McAuliffe’s logo will now appear on pitch-side signage and all senior men’s, Colts (under 18s) and ladies’ match shirts.

Funds from the sponsorship will help Wolverhampton RUFC in its mission to provide local people with the facilities and support to play rugby union. The club has had up to 200 adults and 300 children from the surrounding area playing rugby every weekend since its launch in 1875.

Established in Wolverhampton almost 50 years ago, family business, McAuliffe, already has a longstanding relationship with Wolverhampton RUFC, having attended club games and supported fundraising for many years.

Managing Director, John McAuliffe, said: “We’re proud to support a local club that does so much to encourage people of different ages and experience levels to take up rugby union.

“Having once represented Wolverhampton RUFC at underage myself, it’s great to see how it has continued to develop as an important part of the local community.”

Neil Jones, Director of Rugby at Wolverhampton Rugby Union Football Club, added: “Without the support of sponsors like McAuliffe we simply wouldn’t be able to provide the facilities we aspire to. Recently the club has built new changing facilities and completely refurbished the club house, these costs along with the costs associated with the day to day running of the club would be crippling without the generosity of our sponsors. As Director of Rugby at WRUFC I would like to formally take this opportunity to thank John, Mick and all at McAuliffe for their ongoing support and friendship at the club.”
