On your marks, get set, GO!!!!!

Get your running shoes ready for The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice’s 13th annual 5k and 10k Family Fun Run which is taking place on Sunday 21st May 2017.

The event will be held in the beautiful surroundings of Trentham Gardens, Stoke-on-Trent and will start at 10am. Before the runners gather at the start line, they’ll be able to get their muscles raring to go with a warm up at 9.30am.

This year’s race will follow a brand new course layout, with the start / finish line located by the South Entrance close to the Monkey Forest.

Zoë Gregory, Events Manager at The Donna Louise, said, “This promises to be a great day with something for all the family. The 10k race is recognised under the UK Athletics Certificate of Course Accuracy and all 10k runners will receive a chipped running number which will provide an official race time.

“If you’re not a serious runner and you’re just looking for a bit of family fun, why not sign up for our 5k race which you can walk, run, skip or hop. The 5k run is open to all ages and abilities and the course is wheelchair and pushchair friendly. What’s more fancy dress is encouraged and there’ll even be a prize for the best costume.”

Registration is now open for both races. The 10k race is £15 per person and has an age limit of 16 years and over. The 5k race is open to any age and is £13 per adult, £8 per child or £37 for a family of two adults and two children.

All entrants will receive a medal when they cross the finish line as well as a goody bag full of freebies.

So whether you’re looking for a fun, family event, or you’re a serious runner aiming to beat your personal best, The Donna Louise’s Family Fun Run has something for you.
