Lucideon appointments fuel business growth

L-R: Tony Kinsella, Amanda Chu and Chris Bill

The world-leading materials technology company Lucideon has made two key appointments, to support the business in reaching its full global potential.

Buoyed by success in national and international markets across the aerospace, defence, construction, nuclear, healthcare and technical ceramics sectors, the company is now looking to the next stage in its ambitious journey – and has taken on two finance experts to lead the process.

Chris Bill has been appointed to the role of Chief Finance Officer with a remit to help shape Lucideon’s high-growth trajectory and deliver the funding that the company’s progressive plan requires.

He is being supported by Amanda Chu, Lucideon’s new Finance Director, who will provide day-to-day financial reporting and business partnering to the operational business to underpin the company’s growth strategy.

Chris said: “Lucideon is an ambitious business with a fantastic proposition.

“The company has a world-class offering, world-class scientists and world-class customers, who really value our work.

“Currently we are a £20 million business and have an ambition to take that to between £60 and £80 million in the next few years through a combination of organic and acquisitive growth.”

Employing more than 240 staff across the globe – many of whom are based at its global headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent – the key to Lucideon’s success to date has been international expansion.

Its global footprint includes offices and laboratories based in North and South Carolina, where it is moving to a new 24,000 sq. ft. facility, as well as New York.

Lucideon has also recently opened offices in Austria and Switzerland – and is in the process of opening sales offices in the Far East.

Chris started his career as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and brings a wealth of experience across a range of listed companies, including Unipart, Harsco and Capita, and growing mid-market companies such as Nuclear Engineering Services Ltd.

Amanda also trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and has gained wide-ranging expertise across companies including Flare Group plc, Caudwell Group, GSH plc and Ashwell Biomass.

Tony Kinsella, Lucideon’s Chief Executive, said: “We are a bold business, totally committed to being recognised around the world as the technical partner of choice for emerging technologies, processes and materials, and to be at the forefront as a consulting partner for companies and organisations.

“Chris and Amanda will play a key role in leading our high growth strategy in the global economy and we are looking forward to exciting times ahead.”
