Local MP praises new facilities at Wood Norton retirement village

Nigel Huddleston arrived at the brand new luxury retirement village in Wood Norton on Friday morning to declare the care floor open, unveiling a commemorative plaque outside the entrance to the floor to mark the momentous occasion.

The local MP also received a tour of the new village with Richmond Villages managing director Philippa Fieldhouse and village manager, Paul Brady, and enjoyed meeting and talking to the village team and residents about what life at Richmond Villages Wood Norton is like.

The care floor is the latest addition to the retirement village, which opened in March 2019 and already boasts a range of independent living apartments and assisted living suites, which come with a lifestyle package that takes care of meals, housekeeping, laundry and utility bills. Now open, the 60 bed care floor will tend to the care needs of the frail and elderly living in Worcestershire, as well as those living with dementia.

Commenting on his visit to Richmond Wood Norton MP, Nigel Huddleston, says, “I have been impressed by the attention to detail here at Richmond Wood Norton. Everything from the layout of rooms and décor, to the activities programme, facilities and level of care offered is astounding. I think the people of Evesham and surrounding areas are extremely fortunate to have this on their doorstep, now open and fully operational.”

Paul Brady, village manager adds, “We’ve had a fantastic start to the year as a brand new retirement village in the area and the addition of the care floor has topped off this success. It’s brilliant to be able to showcase our village to our local MP and are thrilled to hear such positive feedback from him and all of our new residents.”

As well as a range of different property options, residents at Richmond Villages Wood Norton are offered a tailored level of care depending on their needs, and have full use of the property’s state-of-the-art facilities and communal spaces. This includes a licensed bar, restaurant and private cinema, as well as a luxury wellness spa with pool, sauna, Temple Spa beauty therapy rooms and a fitness suite which is open for members of the local community to become leisure members.
