A Shropshire-based HR Consultant has claimed a national honour at the UK’s most prestigious award ceremony dedicated to the growth of small businesses.
Managing director of Jungle HR, Teresa Boughey, claimed the prize in the Best Business Enabler category at the National Entrepreneur Awards at Birmingham’s ICC last Friday.
Teresa became a mum at a young age, but was determined that being a teenage mum would not stop her from reaching the heights of the business world and she made it her life mission to prove the doubters wrong.
Having successfully worked for a number of large organisations, Teresa launched Jungle HR is 2008, with the aim of delivering sustained business results for clients, which enables them to be the best they can be.
Teresa has a client list that stretches across Europe and has documented client cost savings of over £3.7 million.
Teresa’s successes include working with global organisations on business transformation projects, where she revitalised the Executive Board, raised people’s management capabilities and hugely improved team communication and performance.
Since setting up Jungle HR, Teresa and her team have also delivered several major leadership development programmes, not only enhancing and revitalising leadership skills and management capability, but which also resulted in cost savings of over £500,000.
Alongside being a successful Executive Coach, Teresa has also designed a HR Business Partner programme which she has delivered to an Aerospace Company and more recently has delivered to Weetabix, enabling HR professionals within an organisation to become true HR business partners.
Speaking about the awards, Teresa said: “HR can sometimes be viewed as pink and fluffy, but there’s nothing pink and fluffy about the work I’ve delivered since setting up Jungle HR in 2008.
“It is an absolute honour to receive national recognition for the work myself and my team put in to making a real difference to other businesses.
“I was up against tough competition with the other five finalists, but their successes just prove that with dedication and hard work, anything is possible.
“Increasing operational efficiency, helping leaders achieve their commercial goals and delivering change is what I’m passionate about and to know that what I’m doing is making a difference, really is incredible.”
Teresa is a UK Female Entrepreneur Ambassador and represented the UK at the European SME Summit in Brussels in 2012.
She has also raised over £4,000 for charity and regularly attends the local college to give talks on Entrepreneurship.
UK’s top satirical impressionist Alistair McGowan, hosted the award ceremony, which paid tribute to the ten most impressive business owners in the UK.
The award ceremony was part of the two day National Entrepreneur’s Convention, hosted by Nigel Botterill’s Entrepreneur’s Circle at the ICC on September 27th and 28th and featured a key note speech from Sir Chris Hoy.
