Round up friends and family, grab a camping chair and join us under the stars at the National Trust’s, Coughton Court this summer for a whole host of outdoor events. There’s something for everyone to enjoy from Shakespeare’s, A Midsummer Night’s Dream to Pride and Prejudice and for the first time we’ll be showing two classic films against the backdrop of the Court, all throughout July and August.

Kicking us off are Chapterhouse Theatre Company on Friday 5 July who are celebrating their 20th year of touring. Take a step back in time to meet Elizabeth Bennet, Jane Austen’s notorious heroine. When Elizabeth meets the terse and abrupt Mr. Darcy, she loathes him at first sight, but is there more to him than meets the eye? Brought to life by award-winning writer Laura Turner, this adaptation has been a favourite of Chapterhouse audiences for years. So join us for an evening of theatre beneath the stars, basking in the glow of this timeless classic.

Join The Lord Chamberlain’s Men on Friday 19 July who are celebrating their 15th birthday and an amazing 425 years since the original company was created. To celebrate this special anniversary, they are touring one of Shakespeare’s most popular and best-loved comedies, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and we’re delighted to welcome them back to Coughton.

Peter Stickney, Artistic Director, says, “To reach our 15th birthday is no mean feat. Reaching this milestone is a testament to the great work of the many actors and creatives who have worked with us, but we truly couldn’t do any of this without the support of our wonderful venues and amazing audiences who make this such a joy. We played to almost 30,000 people across the summer last year and we hope that this year will see us entertain even more.’

On Friday 9 and Saturday 10 August join us for an exciting evening of open-air film. Celebrate the warm summer evenings and enjoy an alfresco screening of Bohemian Rhapsody and Dirty Dancing. Invite friends and family, load up the picnic hamper and enjoy watching a classic movie under the stars.

So bring a blanket and a picnic and gather all the family together for a fun-filled night of summer evening merriment at Coughton Court.
