Kemble Care has rebranded as Kemble at Home and staff have been talking to shoppers at the Old Market in Hereford city centre about what the new name means.
Jenny Jones, managing director of Kemble’s visiting services, said the company was changing the way it delivered its services.
She said: “Kemble Care’s main role has been to deliver care to people within their own homes, and we have done this very successfully since the company was launched in 1993.
“We have nearly 200 clients across Herefordshire and our carers either visit them, or in some cases live in their homes with them, to provide care services around the clock.
“But as well as these traditional care services, we are working towards widening what we do which is why we have a new name – Kemble at Home.
“We spent three days in December talking to shoppers in the Old Market to tell them about our plans and we had a really positive reaction, which was fantastic.”
As well as talking to people, Jenny and her team were inviting them to enter a free prize draw to win a £100 luxury food hamper and a handmade Christmas cake.
Jenny said about 200 people signed up for the draw and the winners have been now been contacted.
“It was great to meet so many people and spread the word about what we will be doing,” she said.
“It was interesting to hear that a lot of people had not heard of Kemble Care unless they, or a member of their family, had received first-hand experience of using our services.
“We are really keen to raise awareness of Kemble at Home, as we are planning to do much more than just provide care – we want to work with people of all ages and have lots of exciting plans for the future.”
