Seven female staff from Henshalls Insurance Brokers in Newport and Shrewsbury are the latest to complete a round of tough exams and they’re shining examples of the way the industry is growing.
The successful employees are: Michaela Petford (Level 2 in the Principles of Business and Administration); Sue Monether, Nina Evans, Deb Cassidy, Sarah Lincoln, Shirley Woodward (Level 3 in Providing Financial Services); and Lucy Sutton (Chartered Insurance Institute IF1 exam).
Director Mark Freeman said the employees had all studied alongside their everyday duties to complete their training and their success was part of their progress towards professional qualifications with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
The candidates have worked hard to cover a wide range of topics including case studies, scenarios with happy and unhappy clients, service levels, and problem solving. Lucy’s course also covered legal principles, procedures and major classes of insurance.
Mark said: “We’re extremely proud of everyone and the commitment they have shown to their studies, and we believe our staff really are setting a great example for others in the world of insurance.”
He said the latest success followed hot on the heels of a campaign by The Chartered Insurance Institute, which had launched a new website aimed specifically at women.
“The website – www.women.cii-talent.com – showcases the merits of a career in insurance, particularly for women looking to return to work after a career break, and the CII is promoting the site to encourage women to consider the industry as a possible career.
“At Henshalls, the majority of our employees are female, and we encourage everyone in our team – whether male or female – to continuously update their skills and pursue ongoing training opportunities.
“So we’re very pleased to see the Chartered Insurance Institute taking a pro-active approach to encouraging valuable employees to make the most of their skills and to maximise their potential in the workplace.”
