First homes reserved on first day at newly-launched development in Coventry

The launch of a new Bellway housing development in Coventry saw more than 70 house-hunters visit over two hectic days.

Building work is set to start at the keenly-awaited The Hedgerows development in Scots Lane, Coundon, so the first homes were released for sale from Bellway’s nearby The Brambles development on Saturday 5 January.

And one prospective customer was so keen they turned up to have a look at 8.30am – 90 minutes before the development opened.

Jane Yolland, Sales Director for Bellway South Midlands, said: “We are delighted with how the launch of The Hedgerows went.

“More than 70 people, mostly from Coventry, came along over the entire weekend and the flow of prospective buyers was non-stop.

“We had three sales advisers, a sales manager and an adviser from Meridian Mortgages on hand and they were kept very busy right across the two days.”

Jane said staff began seeing visitors who had booked 15-minute appointments at 10am.

She said: “We were amazed that the first person actually showed up at 8.30am! The next began to appear at about 9.30am and there was a steady stream until we closed.

“It went so well and people were so impressed that we sold three houses at The Hedgerows and one at The Brambles. The site was absolutely buzzing.

“We expected to be busy because there has been so much interest in The Hedgerows but we were still astonished by the overwhelming response.”

New homes at The Hedgerows will include two, three and four-bedroom designs. A choice of four-bedroom properties is currently available priced from £355,000, while home-hunters are advised to register an interest in plots which are yet to be released for sale.
