Escape Time (Sutton Coldfield) who have recently just won ‘New Business of the Year Award’ at the Birmingham Post Business Awards are to ‘buddy up’ with The Buddy Bag Foundation this Christmas in the hope of bringing a smile back to children less fortunate.
James Bartlett (Director of Escape Time (Sutton Coldfield) Limited) has said: “Selecting our charities is a careful process, there are some that are just close to our hearts and others that we find from the local area (as much as possible). With Christmas just around the corner, unfortunately some children are faced with events beyond their control. By partnering up with The Buddy Bag Foundation we are hoping to bring a smile back to these children at a time that is meant to be a time of fun, happiness and creating magical memories.”
The Buddy Bag Foundation was setup to provide children entering emergency accommodation with Buddy Bags to restore a sense of safety and security in their lives.
A Buddy Bag is a backpack that contains all the essential items a child needs. They include toiletries, pyjamas, socks and underwear. They also include comfort items such as a book, a photo frame and a teddy bear. A Buddy Bag is something a child can call their own, no matter where they go.
The Buddy Bag will also include a postcard addressed to the Foundation so children can write to let us know how their Buddy Bag has helped them and to say thank you.
The Buddy Bags are tailored to suit babies and children according to age groups and gender and cater specifically for children aged 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 and 13-16 years old.
Each Buddy Bag costs around £25.00 each which ensures one child will receive a complete Buddy Bag full of essential items as above.
Escape Time are planning several fundraising opportunities to support the charity over the coming months and below we have detailed a few of these.
For every gift voucher that is purchased up to 25th December 2018, Escape Time will donate £1 to The Buddy Bag Foundation. Not only will you be purchasing a great gift for someone you will also be adding to our overall donation and bringing a smile to a child this Christmas!
Gift Vouchers can be purchased from the website at: www.escapetime.co.uk/gift-vouchers.
Despite the monetary value in donation form, time is also just as important. Escape Time are planning to take a team of their staff to the Buddy Bag Brigade in Tamworth on Tuesday 20th November to volunteer and assist with helping to pack the bags that are provided to the children. If we have any customers who would also like to give a little bit of their time to this great cause please do get in touch with us via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Escape Time have also supplied two gift vouchers to the charity for their Charity Ball that took place at Moor Hall Hotel & Spa on Friday 9th November 2018.
One Gift Voucher was a raffle prize while the other was an auctioned prize. Each voucher entitled up to 6 people to play one of the escape room games at Sutton Coldfield and would usually cost £90.00.
To find out more about The Buddy Bag Foundation please visit their website at www.buddybagfoundation.co.uk and together over the last quarter for 2018 we hope to raise a large amount for charity and bring a smile to the faces of those children who are not faced with a choice in life this Christmas.
