Cycle-R receive funding to launch major training progam

Cycle-R, the bicycle recycling charity in Cannock, are delighted to announce that they have received finding to launch a major training program over the next three years.

Cycle-R has received funding through Building Better Opportunities ( The project has received up to £3,170,300 of funding from the European Social Fund as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England. The Department for Work and Pensions is the Managing Authority for the England European Social Fund programme. Established by the European Union, the European Social Fund helps local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support skills development, employment and job creation, social inclusion and local community regenerations. These places are for those who are either unemployed or economically inactive.  Each course will last six weeks and each person attending will receive, upon completion of the course, a level 2 qualification and a range of high quality employability skills.

The courses on offer are:

Bicycle Mechanic (Cytech 1 and a competency certificate)
Retail/Customer Service

The courses will be a mixture of practical, hands on experience within the Cycle-R charity and work-book training with regular assessments.  The courses will run for 4 hours per day, 4 days a week with a break during the day.

Cycle-R will be flexible on times and dates in order to accommodate needs and requirements of the individual learners.
