Coventry’s Student Shopping Night comes back bigger and better

Students will be welcomed back to Coventry in style as it hosts one of the biggest events in the retail calendar once again. For the fifth year running, the city centre will be hosting its annual Student Shopping Night on Wednesday, October 4.

The event is set to run between 6pm and 10pm and a whole host of discounts, freebies and promotions will be on offer.

The Student Shopping Night returns after being a huge success in 2016, when around 10,000 visitors turned out during the evening and businesses collectively made more than £200,000 in four hours.

Coventry Business Improvement District (BID), Lower Precinct Shopping Centre and West Orchards Shopping Centre have joined forces again to organise the night.

Trish Willetts, manager of Coventry BID, is looking forward to another successful evening for all the retailers in the city centre that participate.

“Last year’s Student Shopping Night was such a fantastic night for students and businesses alike,” said Trish. “Now we want to make sure that we not only repeat that, but go bigger and better for everyone involved and promote the strength of the city’s shopping offer as it continues to grow.

“Now is the time for students to get registering for the event and make sure they have secured their wristband, giving access to exclusive offers, events and freebies on the night.

“It’s simple to do, just visit www.coventrycitycentre.co.uk/studentshopping where you will be able to sign up for free.”

DJs will provide the soundtrack to the events in both Lower Precinct and in The Loft in West Orchards. Not only that, there will be free beer pong games, a ‘Makeover My Mate’ competition, street food, cocktails, and much more at the two sites.

Both national names and independent businesses will be supporting the event, including the likes of Cosy Club, Kong, Topshop, Escape Live, Bubble Boba, Beauty Section and Nandos.

In Lower Precinct, H&M, Tiger, Café Nero, Schuh, Two Seasons, Lush and Sally Hair & Beauty will be offering discounts. Over in West Orchards, Chameleon, Footasylum, Debenhams, The Perfume Shop, Skopes, Hannigans, McDonalds, Loveshake and many more will also have special offers to tempt in shoppers.

Upper Precinct will also be a hive of activity during the evening with around 30 stalls set up for the night showcasing other businesses from across the city centre and what they have to offer.

Along with all the fun in Lower Precinct, West Orchards and Upper Precinct, Broadgate will also be playing host to a fun fair once again for everyone to enjoy.
