Corporate hospitality specialist opens London office

Birmingham-based corporate hospitality provider Eventmasters has announced the opening of an office in London.

Elliot Sheasby, son of the company’s managing director Denise, is leading the development.

The idea is to further grow the substantial number of South-east clients the firm has on its books.

Major events are Twickenham – set to expand further after a deal with Harlequins to utilise The Twickenham Stoop’s corporate facilities on England International match days – Cheltenham, Chester, Royal Ascot, York and, after a successful launch this year, the Henley Royal Regatta.

In addition there are relationships with Trent Bridge, Headingley, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and the Lawn Tennis Association.

Elliot will be seeking to further enhance the Henley operation and in addition, the intention is to launch a presence at the Chelsea Flower Show next year.

Sheasby said: “Corporate hospitality is huge in London and the South-east.

“We sell our packages across the country but we certainly see great scope to build business in and around the capital.”

Elliot received an economics degree from York University, followed his ambition to go to London and initially pursuing a career in recruitment before joining the family business and, after subsequently being made a director, has shown that his previous outside experience has proven invaluable.

He said: “I have always been involved to an extent, for example helping out at events and updating the company website when I was in my teens. But now I am fully hands on. It is all about driving the business forward and establishing a London office gives us the cache and profile we need to win a bigger share of the South-east cake.”

The input Elliot has had in the business has been recognised with him being nominated for Director of the Year at the Midlands Family Business Awards, with the results being announced at the annual dinner at the University of Birmingham in November.

The firm, with its head office in Birmingham’s St Paul’s Square, celebrated its 30th anniversary last year.
