A Warwickshire hotel has been shortlisted as one of the top venues in the country in a prestigious awards for the third consecutive year.
Once again Coombe Abbey Hotel will be taking on some of the most well-known and respected venues from around the UK in the M&IT Awards 2019.
The Brinklow-based former Cistercian Abbey has been named as one of the finalists in the Best UK Hotel category.
Coombe Abbey is no stranger to the awards scheme, having been recognised a number of times in different categories, but this is third year in a row that it has been named as a finalist in the Best UK Hotel category.
It will now be going up against five star venues such as Celtic Manor Resort, Chewton Glen and the Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square.
Along with being a finalist in that category, Coombe Abbey is also up for the trophy for the Best UK Unusual Venue and will be competing against the likes of high profile venues such as Alton Towers Resort, Cliveden, Natural History Museum and Solent Forts.
What makes the news even better is the fact that this is the fourth consecutive year that the hotel has been shortlisted for any category at the event.
The M&IT Awards is seen as the most prestigious awards scheme within the event industry and what makes them even more special is the fact that they are voted for by the customers of businesses.
Ron Terry, general manager of the hotel, paid tribute to the hard-working team for getting the venue recognised again.
“Our staff are second to none and they are a big part of why we have been nominated for the fourth consecutive year in the Best UK Hotel category,” said Ron.
“I want to say a huge thank you to all of them for their dedication over the past year and their impeccable work that helps us stand out from the crowd and make a huge impression to everyone that walks through our doors.
“We are all absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted once again and not just for Best UK Hotel, but also for Best UK Unusual Venue.
“It is once again a massive honour to be recognised and to be in such illustrious company from across the industry in both categories and we look forward to finding out the results in March.”
Last year, Coombe Abbey secured two Golds and one Silver award in a glittering ceremony, so it has a lot to live up to in 2019.
The silver trophy came in the Best UK Hotel category and the two golds were in the Best UK Unusual Venue and Best Value for Money Conference Venue for the second year running.
This year’s awards ceremony, which is organised by trade and events magazine M&IT, is set to take place on March 1 at Battersea Evolution in London.
A total of 15 awards will be up for grabs on the evening, which aims to honour the best venues, suppliers, agencies and airlines in the business.
