Leading building society the West Brom hit the perfect note to mark the launch of its new home town branch – thanks to the support of leading Sandwell musicians.

The West Brom celebrated the opening of its new site in New Square by hosting a day of fun activities in the shopping centre.

The People’s Orchestra proved the major attraction, displaying their musical talents with two performances which were watched by scores of shoppers.

Walsall based magician Owen Strickland also wowed current and potential new building society members with close-up tricks.

Branch Manager Pinda Kang said: “Moving to New Square is a major development for the West Brom building society and it was important that we marked it.

“There was a real buzz in and around the branch at the weekend for our special celebration day.

“We have only been open for a few weeks but we have had fantastic feedback on the location and accessibility, as well as our extended opening hours. It’s proving very popular with current and new members alike.”

The new branch – which replaces the West Brom’s previous Dartmouth Square and 321 High Street locations – is situated close to Tesco and provides customers with improved accessibility and longer opening hours.

The New Square branch includes five counter points, two offices for private customer consultations and opens until 6pm, Monday to Saturday.

Founded 170 years ago, the West Brom is a leading regional building society with 36 branches and around 430,000 members.
