Birmingham-based Packt CEO to judge Best British Mobile Startup 2017

untitledPackt CEO to Judge Best British Mobile Startup 2017 Dave Maclean will join a panel of industry experts to judge the best of the West Midland’s mobile start-ups Birmingham, UK – 09 November 2016 – Dave Maclean, CEO of Packt, has been announced as a judge at KPMG’s Best British Mobile Startup 2017. As part of KPMG’s increasing support to the early stage and high-growth technology sector in the Midlands, one of four regional heats will be hosted at KPMG’s offices in Birmingham on 14 November 2016.

Dave Maclean will sit on a panel of industry experts including Julian Dennard of Technology Venture Partners, Mike Brooman of Vanti, and Jennifer Edwards, a strategic marketing consultant, to judge pitches from the best mobile related startups in the Midlands. Entrants will be judged on Pitch Quality, Disruption, Market Potential, Traction and Innovation.

The winner — alongside the winners from the London, Bristol and Leeds heats -– will win a trip to 2017 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and compete for the Best British Mobile Startup 2017 award. “I’m honoured to be part of the Best British Mobile Startup 2017, which celebrates and showcases the wealth of talent amongst the Midlands’ tech community,” comments Maclean. “Packt’s mission is to help the world put software to work in new ways, and that’s exactly what these start-ups are successfully doing.
