Award winning caterer Amadeus picked up the Employer of the Year award at the 2013 Executive PA Magazine | Hays awards.
Amadeus beat off stiff competition from five other finalists to scoop the prestigious award at Wednesday night’s event attended by more than 270 people.
Amadeus was nominated by Business Assistant Jane Smith, employees were then asked by the organisers to complete a survey about working for Amadeus. It is the glowing report given by their employees that led to Amadeus winning the award.
All Amadeus employees are given extensive training and continued development, some taken via an online Learnspace application and receive the choice of a number of benefits, including private health care, contributory pension scheme, Healthcare cash plan, travel insurance discount, buying extra holiday, dental insurance, retail vouchers, bike to work scheme, childcare vouchers, carbon offset vouchers, charity contribution from salary scheme and daily free lunch.
Amadeus recognise staff going “above and beyond” through a rewards scheme called Brilliance. In 2012 Amadeus employees earned 900 awards and 750 “thank-yous”
Employee satisfaction is reflected in Amadeus’ long service record, 32% of the workforce has 5 years plus service and one of their employees has been with the organisation for 37 years!
Managing Director Kevin Watson is described as an inspiring and fair leader who often arranges social events for team members and ensures success is recognised and rewarded. Kevin, along with his senior management team, has recently championed a coaching culture within the organisation which aims to equip staff with new skills and help them reach their full potential.
Business Assistant Jane Smith was at the gala dinner at Grange City hotel to collect the award and was joined by Managing Director of Amadeus Kevin Watson, he said, “We are very pleased to have won the Employer of the Year award, particularly as it is voted for by our employees. Ensuring that our team are rewarded for all their hard work and are given the support they need to develop in their roles is extremely important to me, it is good to know that they enjoy working for Amadeus and feel valued. Through our annual speakup survey we are able to identify areas that we are doing well in and also any that need further consideration so we can build an even stronger team for the future.”
Amadeus were also given a trip for ten people to Splash World in Bognor Regis so they can continue to develop their team building success.
