An expanding business is set to relocate in Leicester in the shape of furniture company BlueSunTree Limited, in a deal secured by Innes England.
BlueSunTree furniture and interiors specialises in modern, contemporary and designer classic furniture.
The business has chosen to move its 5,000 sq ft showroom on Abbey Lane to almost 25,000 sq ft of industrial accommodation at Interchange in Birstall. This follows a successful trading period for the company, established by husband and wife owners Rob and Lisa Cain only six years ago.
Rob Cain, managing director of BlueSunTree, said: “We have a passion for exceptional quality, outstanding design and a commitment to customer satisfaction. We chose Interchange because we feel it reflects this company ethos.
“The internet is a very important selling channel for us to reach our customers, particularly outside of Leicestershire. However, having a showroom where our customers can visit us, enjoy the browsing experience and see products true to life is an equally important part of our business which can’t be replaced by the internet.
“The move to Interchange at Birstal will allow us to set up our new head office premises plus showroom and despatch warehouse all under one roof. With the growth that we have seen over the last two years, we needed to expand our despatch operation to make it run more efficiently. The move to Birstal coincides with the implementation of our new barcode warehouse management system, which allows orders to be processed picked and packed within minutes and ensures orders are delivered on time every time.”
The two units, which total 25,322 st ft, were speculatively built by developer Jelson and is part of Phase One of the mixed office and industrial scheme.
Innes England acted on behalf of Jelson in the deal for the warehouse and showroom premises.
Peter Doleman, head of agency for Innes England in Leicester said: “The regeneration in and around the national space centre off Abbey Lane, which is where the current showroom is located, presented a timely opportunity for the business to move to bigger and better quality premises.
“We continue to have a great deal of interest in Interchange, which has been a very successful development and BlueSunTree’s arrival will complement the existing occupiers.”
Stuart Wilson of developer Jelson added: “The completion of industrial units 46 and 47 at Interchange allows us to move on to consider further speculative development on what has become one of Leicester’s premier industrial and commercial locations.
“The construction of the units was finished in January and we are very happy to welcome BlueSunTree to Interchange so soon after completion. They are now progressing well on a bespoke fit-out ahead of their occupation.”
A short drive to Leicester city centre, Interchange Leicester is situated at the junction of the A6 and A46, allowing easy access to the M1. The units are part of Phase One of the 15-acre office and industrial development, which also offers design and build opportunities.
