Current world number three and former world number one golfer Lee Westwood is visiting Derbyshire golf complex, Morley Hayes next week to give budding young golfers the chance to learn what it takes to get to the top.

For the fourth consecutive year, Morley Hayes on Main Road in Morley has been chosen as the only venue in Derbyshire and one of just ten venues across the UK to be selected to host the three-day Lee Westwood Golf Academy.

The Lee Westwood Golf Academy is taking place from 25th – 27th July and gives local children aged between 7 and 16 the improve their golfing skills.

And Lee, who held the coveted world number one spot last year, will be at Morley Hayes from 2.00pm to 3.00pm on Wednesday July 25th.

Lee took up golfing when he was 13, after being given a half set of golf clubs. Since then, he has won 22 events on the European Tour, as well as tournaments in America, Africa, Asia and Australia, establishing himself in the top World golf rankings. Lee previously held the world’s number one spot and is currently world number three.

The coaching programme covers every aspect of the sport and helps young golfers of any age or ability to improve their game whilst having a lot of fun.
